Malia Maciuszonek

Post Secondary

Malia Maciuszonek is a passionate advocate, accomplished student leader, and future humanitarian lawyer dedicated to advancing human rights, justice, and equity on both local and global scales.


Currently pursuing a Double Honours degree in Sociology and Political Science at the University of Manitoba, Malia aspires to build a career in international humanitarian law, working to strengthen protections for vulnerable populations and promote accountability during humanitarian crises.


Leadership and service have been defining features of Malia’s journey. Throughout high school and university, she has contributed to numerous community initiatives, student organizations, accessibility programs, and youth leadership opportunities. Her commitment to supporting others is evident through her mentorship, advocacy, and dedication to creating inclusive spaces where individuals can thrive.


Malia’s experiences in leadership development, civic engagement, volunteerism, and humanitarian advocacy have strengthened her belief that meaningful change occurs when people work collaboratively toward a common goal. She approaches every opportunity with empathy, determination, and a strong sense of responsibility to her community.


Through her commitment to justice, lifelong learning, and service, Malia exemplifies the trailblazing spirit of Nellie McClung and the power of young leaders to create lasting change.
